Devotion Luke 11:9 (June 10, 2021)

Verse

…seek, and you will find…
Luke 11:9

Message

  • Seek if you have not found. “You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss…” (James 4:3).
  • “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters…” (Isaiah 55:1)
  • Experience is a doorway, not a final goal.
  • you can never give another person what you have found, but you can cause him to have a desire for it.
  • “…to him who knocks it will be opened” (Luke 11:10).
  • “…knock, and it will be opened to you” (Luke 11:9). “Draw near to God…” (James 4:8)
  • “Cleanse your hands…” (James 4:8)
  • “…purify your hearts…” (James 4:8)
  • “Lament…” (James 4:9)
  • “Humble yourselves…” (James 4:10)

Knocking at the door of Christ is an experience, it draw us near to God, Cleanses us, Purify us and humble us as we reach that point of lamenting to our current stand. Seeing all this, our nothingness worst its not even nothing its a state of something that is opposite of pleasant.

This is just a reminder that when we as let it not be those typical things of the flesh but rather of spiritual things, things that really matter things that are of the Lord.

Promise

He will grant us the experience like no other, and experience that will lead us closer and closer to Him, an experience that would lead us to knowing our selves more and more. That Great experience that will lead us to a point of realisation that we are less than nothing and that He is everything but yet he died for us and will do it again because He loves us.

Command

Enjoy the experience, allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in our lives and lead us to things that we should be doing. Never stop knocking until something happens, we are called to pray with persistence we may not be able to receive what we prayed for but we will definitely receive what we should receive and in the same way correct our hearts to in the process.

Warning

There would be times that we would want things dearly and it would not be given us. This is because the Lord wanted something best for us and that is not what we initially wanted. Let this be always in mind never stop praying if we have yet to receive what we prayed for for asking the Lord would lead us to what we should actually be receiving, actually be praying for.

Application

Never stop praying, experience his great power it may or may not correct the desire that we have in our hearts but the experience is the one that is indeed the price.

Devotion John 13:17 (June 8, 2021)

Verse

If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
John 13:17

Message

  • Be determined to know more than others.
    • If you yourself do not cut the lines that tie you to the dock, God will have to use a storm to sever them and to send you out to sea.
    • Put everything in your life afloat upon God, going out to sea on the great swelling tide of His purpose, and your eyes will be opened
    • If you believe in Jesus, you are not to spend all your time in the calm waters just inside the harbour, full of joy, but always tied to the dock. You have to get out past the
  • harbour into the great depths of God, and begin to know things for yourself— begin to have spiritual discernment.
  • When you know that you should do something and you do it, immediately you know more.
  • It is a dangerous thing to refuse to continue learning and knowing more.
  • “If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know…” (John 7:17).
  • The counterfeit of obedience is a state of mind in which you create your own opportunities to sacrifice yourself, and your zeal and enthusiasm are mistaken for discernment.
  • It is much better to fulfil the purpose of God in your life by discerning His will than it is to perform great acts of self-sacrifice. “Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice…” (1 Samuel 15:22).
  • Beware of paying attention or going back to what you once were, when God wants you to be something that you have never been. “If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know…” (John 7:17).

Go forth to the sea. Let not the normal or the comfort that we were blessed with be a way for us not to grow in knowledge of God. More so let us not supersede what the Lord wanted us to do.

Be right with God first and find that decrement that will come with it. After that live without question for every step should eventually be the will of the Lord without a doubt.

Promise

He has a great plan for us and if we can’t do it we would bring things our way to nudge us to the right place. He does not want us to be stagnant and never grow. The Holy Spirit will lead us where we should be and let us know what to do to get there. The Lord has sent Him to guide us in this life. Let us always be aware of Him and what He wanted to do. Never miss a command and always be sensitive of the things that we should not be doing.

Command

Know God and obey His will. Find decrement and know what to do, and this can only happen when we are aligned with God. be sensitive and know the will of the Father for He only wanted what is best for us. Stop leading this life and start being afloat in the sea that the Lord has purposed us to be at.

Warning

Disobedience will lead us to not hear the Lord and only our selves. Most failed actions and assumptions started with disobedience.

The Lord does not want us to be stagnant or stuck half way. He wants us to reach that point of His purpose in our lives. We will start with His commands to obey and when that does not happen He will nudge us to where we need to go. The extent of the nudge will increase progressively it will be harder and hard as it goes. So as a reminder for this lets just do it in the start for thats the best way to go about with it and eventually it will still go there.

Application

Never be stagnant, Never get stop on our mountain top experiences, Never get stop on that perfect place the Lord blessed us with. Move and Grow. The Lord has a great purpose for us and until unless we are with Him we are never done.

Seek the Lord always and know His will. Make it a habit for us to ask the Lord His will and always make sure we do it as soon as we can. In the same time always be sensitive in the will of the Father and His warnings. The Holy Spirit is there to lead us where we should be and remind us of what we should not be doing. Listen and obey. Let God Lead and lets afloat to His wonderful plans and purpose in this life.

Devotion John 14:13 (June 7, 2021)

Verse

Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do…
John 14:13

Message

  • “If you abide in Me…”— that is, if you continue to act, and think, and work from that central point— “you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” (John 15:7)
  • Am I abiding? Am I taking the time to abide? What is the greatest source of power in my life? Is it my work, service, and sacrifice for others, or is it my striving to work for God? It should be none of these— what ought to exert the greatest power in my life is the atonement of the Lord.
  • It is not on what we spend the greatest amount of time that molds us the most, but whatever exerts the most power over us.
  • “Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do….” The disciple who abides in Jesus is the will of God, and what appears to be his free choices are actually God’s foreordained decrees. Is this mysterious? Does it appear to contradict sound logic or seem totally absurd? Yes, but what a glorious truth it is to a saint of God.

Our power comes from the Lord. We can do all things and have all thing through Christ. But this is only true if we are walking in Him. We need to know who He is and align everything in us to Him. Nothing we do or experience should be the power of our actions and of this life rather than that which is the Lord who atoned us from the death.

Promise

He is enough and He has a lot more for us. The things we have received are just some of the things He can do and bless us with. Our Lord is limitless and can do all things and have great and wonderful things for all of us. Remember His promises all of it will come to pass. Declare it for He can never deny HImself.

Command

Focus on the source not just the result. Focus on Him who is never changing and is always there. Focus on Him who is the source of everything.

Warning

Do not limit what the Lord can do in our lives just because we have experience a very incredible blessing or miracle from Him. Let not any experience or state stop us from seeking more and more of Him. If we have experience the greatest as of now and we are still here He have far more greater things for us.

Application

Let nothing move us apart from the will of the Lord. Know Him more and more and find that confidence in His plans and works for it is the best thing that would ever happen to us. Allow the Lord to use us to the best of our abilities and of our lives. In any ways there is and in any form this life is for Him and for Him alone.

Devotion Philippians 2:12-13 (June 6, 2021)

Verse

…work out your own salvation…for it is God who works in you
Philippians 2:12-13

Message

  • With focused attention and great care, you have to “work out” what God “works in” you— not work to accomplish or earn “your own salvation,” but work it out so you will exhibit the evidence of a life based with determined, unshakable faith on the complete and perfect redemption of the Lord.
  • you do not bring an opposing will up against God’s will— God’s will is your will
  • Do I believe that Almighty God is the Source of my will? God not only expects me to do His will, but He is in me to do it.

As we accept the Lord as our personal Lord and saviour know that He is in us we do not have to work on our own less miss the actual point of Him being with us. Find the will with in, know it and live it. Let not emotions or wisdom take control rather allow the Lord to lead us tio the things we need to do. That eventually doing His will, will just be like breathing.

Promise

He will be with us all through out the way. He will lead us all through out the way. He will remind us what to do and not to do and He sent the Holy Spirit to us.

Command

Listen and obey be familiar with His presence and know who our God is. His people knows His voice and follow Hin. Pray that we may know God more and more and that we would be familiar with His voice.

Warning

We can never earn our salvation, it is a gift that is granted us through the Son Jesus Christ. There is nothing we can do to earn it we can just but receive the Lord Jesus Christ to have it. The Lord may give us alot of things including wisdom and those great feelings of Joy but let not anything lead us to think that that is enough and that we should be ok on our won. We need the Lord and we should consider Him every every step of the way.

Application

Know who God is and what He can do in our lives. Know that he is in control and we have to trust Him on this. We need to have Faith the will of the father for He knows what was, what is and is to come. He is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient. More so seek His will and do it, this is the best thing that we can ever do in every situation.

Devotion Hebrews 13:5-6 (June 5, 2021)

Verse

He Himself has said….So we may boldly say…Hebrews 13:5-6

Message

  • My assurance is to be built upon God’s assurance to me.
  • The only way to remove the fear from our lives is to listen to God’s assurance to us.
  • Are you learning to listen to God before you speak, or are you saying things and then trying to make God’s Word fit what you have said?
  • ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear’ ” (Hebrews 13:5-6)
  • Are we continually filled with enough courage to say, “The Lord is my helper,” or are we yielding to fear?

Find courage and confidence in the Lord specially those He said and promised. He can never deny Himself for He is God.

Promise

He will stay true to His words. There are alot of promises of the Lord for our every day needs. He will not miss reminding us of what He promised and give us assurance that everything is going to be all right. He will never allow anything bad happen to us and He only wanted what is Good for us.

Command

Trust the Lord and find confidence in Him. Know that the Lord is in control. Declare who He is and what He can do always that it make stick. Yes we are human and we may feel fear, anger and all those stuff but let it not control us. Listen to the Lord and never supersede Him.

Warning

Never doubt what the Lord can do in our lives. Never doubt every promise His made for all of them will come to pass. He only wanted what is best for us. Sometimes it may not be the one we wanted but His will is the best for us.

Application

Put into heart who He is and what He can do in our lives. Remember His promises and know that He will never leave you nor forsake us and He will not allow anything too hard for us to do.
